If you are successful, the text on the Game Boy Advance system will read, "Processing data", then "Data processing complete".

Look for the Game Boy Advance text to read, "Please swipe a character card.". On the Nintendo GameCube, select "Read card" and press the A Button when asked if you would like to read an Animal Crossing-e Card. Choose "Access Saved Data" on e-Reader menu, and a picture of a Gyroid will appear with the text "Now standing-by.". Turn ON the power of your Game Boy Advance and press the A Button. For the Game Boy Advance SP, plug the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable directly into the back of the Game Boy Advance SP, not into the e-Reader. 
Firmly connect the e-Reader into your Game Boy Advance system. In Animal Crossing for the Nintendo GameCube, go to the following locations to scan your card, depending upon the TYPE of card you have:. One important thing to note is that you will only be allowed to scan an e-Reader card once per day. Scanning an e-Reader Card into Animal CrossingĪfter the e-Reader has been properly prepared for the first time, you may scan your Animal Crossing-e card. When finished, the Game Boy Advance system screen will read "Saving." and Gyroid will appear with the caption, "Now standing-by.". This step may take up to one minute to complete! DO NOT disconnect your e-Reader or link cable or you will receive a "Communication Failure" message. Wait while the screen says "Now downloading." on the Nintendo GameCube. Return to the Nintendo GameCube and press the A Button on the screen that reads, "Prepare the e-Reader for communication. The screen should then read "Connecting." Select "To Nintendo GameCube" and press the A Button on the Game Boy Advance system. Select "Communication" on the Game Boy Advance and press the A Button on the Game Boy Advance. Press the A Button on the Game Boy Advance. Choose "Prep e-Reader" from the options on the Town Melody Board, the e-Reader Transfer Machine in the Post Office or from speaking to Mabel in the Tailor Shop. Turn ON the power of your Game Boy Advance system. For the Game Boy Advance SP, plug the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable directly into the back of the Game Boy Advance SP, not into the e-Reader. For the original Game Boy Advance, plug the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable into the top of the e-Reader. Connect the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable into Controller Slot 2 of the GameCube. Firmly connect the e-Reader into the Game Pak slot of your Game Boy Advance system. In Animal Crossing for the Nintendo GameCube, go to the Post Office, Town Melody Board, or the Able Sisters Tailor Shop. Preparing your e-Reader for use with Animal Crossing Then, after the e-Reader has been prepared for the first time, you may scan Animal Crossing-e cards into Animal Crossing. First, the e-Reader must be prepared for use with Animal Crossing. Using the e-Reader with Animal Crossing is a two step process.
